Cochrane Library – Renewed access until end of 2028

Free access to the Cochrane Library in Switzerland has been secured for the next three years. This outcome is the result of negotiations led by the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (SAMS) Biomedical Libraries Commission (including BiUM), in collaboration with the Consortium of Swiss Academic Libraries (CSAL).

The Cochrane Library is an international database specializing in medical information based on robust scientific evidence. Thanks to the national licence, these resources will be freely accessible to healthcare professionals, researchers and students, as well as to the entire Swiss population.

Funding is provided jointly by the SAMS, the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH), the Federation of Swiss Medical Doctors (FMH), as well as university libraries and hospitals.
