Access control

Access to some areas of the library requires a CHUV badge. This includes for example group study rooms, as well as the Marie Feyler area (level E2) at certain times.

Access to the reserved areas requires to update your badge once a month on a dedicated reader.

Badge reader
Such readers are located for example:

Badge reader BH08 Restaurant Badge reader Falaises 1
at the entrance of the main restaurant in BH08 at the entrance of the Falaises 1 building, opposite the Library
(building currently under construction)

To update your access rights, place your badge on the reader, and leave it static while the blue indicator light is flashing. A red or green light confirms the end of the update (the color itself is not a indication of the success or not of the update).

Step 1 Next step Step 2 Next step Step 3
1 Place your badge on the reader 2 Keep the badge still while the blue light is flashing 3 After a few seconds, a red or green light flashes

The update process is similar when using smaller badge readers. Ensure the badge is positioned in “landscape” mode:

Etape 1 Etape suivante Etape 2 Etape suivante Etape 3
1 Place your badge on the reader 2 Keep the badge still while the blue light is flashing 3 After a few seconds, a red or green light flashes

You can then open the doors locked using your badge:

Step 1 Next step Step 2
1 Place your badge on the reader at the door 2 Keep the badge still until the success (green light) or failure (red) to open

If you are still unable to access the reserved areas after the update of your access rights, please go with your badge to the office BU21 03 169 (Bugnon 21, level 03, office 169) in order to solve the problem.
