New Agreement with Springer Nature
Swissuniversities signed a new global agreement with Springer Nature on 10 June 2026.
This agreement enables Unil, CHUV and Unisanté, in particular, to publish in around 2,700 journals from Springer Nature publishers and to access their entire portfolio free of charge.
A distinction is made between Springer and Nature hybrid journals and Springer Nature Gold journals.
Nature Hybrid
100% coverage of article processing charges (APCs) for the following listed titles and article types:
- Original Paper
- Analysis
- Article
- Letter
- Brief Communication
- Registered Report
- Resource
- Technical Report
Please note that an annual quota applies and Nature Reviews and Scientific American are not included in the agreement.
Springer Hybrid
100% coverage of APCs with no annual quota for the listed titles and the following article types:
- Original Paper
- Review Paper
- Brief Communication
- Continuing Education
For Springer and Nature hybrid journals, articles accepted since 1 January and published under copyright will be eligible for retroactive conversion to Open Access at no cost. Details will be communicated during the summer of 2026.
Springer Nature Gold
Includes BMC, Nature and Palgrave. 100% coverage subject to an annual quota in the listed journals and for the following article types:
- Original paper
- Review Paper
- Brief Communication
- Continuing Education
Articles accepted after 10 June are covered by the agreement. Those accepted between 1 January and 10 June are the responsibility of the relevant departments.
